Tim Berners-Lee was born during 1955 in London, England and was educated at the Queens College, Oxford. Tim Berners-Lee invented the World Wide Web, an internet-based hypermedia initiative for global information sharing. He wrote the first web client and server in 1990.

While he had the potential to earn a lot of money he chose to let people to have access to the World Wide Web without royalties. This was very important to the development and popularity of the World Wide Web. He is also the Director of the World Wide Web Consortium, a Web standards organization founded in 1994 that develops technologies that enhances to the Webs full potential.
